Speaker Information

Professor Rainer Dumke
Invited Speaker

Centre for Quantum Technologies School of Physical & Mathematical Sciences Nanyang Technological University Singapor

Rainer Dumke is faculty at NTU since 2006 and a Principal Investigator at the Centre for Quantum Technologies, NUS. His research focuses on quantum circuits and quantum sensors. His research on quantum circuits includes atomic as well as superconducting platforms and is steered towards hybridization of these two technologies with potential applications in Quantum Computing. Furthermore, he has developed enhanced measurement technologies for ultra precise atomic magnetometry and applied them towards research in bio magnetism. His laboratory has developed a portable atom interferometer to measure extremely accurate local gravity. One of the future aims is to develop a quantum sensor based inertial navigation platform for GPS denied environments.

Rainer Dumke has received his PhD from the Leibniz University Hanover/Germany and has worked previously at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST / USA) and at the Max Planck Institute for Light / Germany. On the lighter side he has received in 2019 the IG noble prize for a research paper on biomagnetism and cockroaches.
